The West Colfax Community Development Fund exists to see the people of West Colfax develop valuable social relationships by creating and maintaining a compelling incentive program for institutional involvement and volunteerism across West Colfax.

Initially, we felt compelled to understand the social relationships that exist in our geographic area. While plenty of demographics data outlines the material conditions of our neighborhoods, there was very little data on the value of the social relationships (Social Capital) across the area.

We published a preliminary Social Capital Report in 2021 which highlighted relatively low "institutional engagement." Following Robert Putnam's call to "address both the supply of opportunities for civic engagement and the demand for those opportunities," Team Colfax was formed.
